Who enjoys a salad without the dressing or some type of a sauce on it? A very few people! Why without the dressing? Because many (not all) contain questionable ingredients. For years I skipped the dressing for that exact reason.
Then I learned that veggies are better absorbed and assimilated by the body, when a little bit of fat is present.
The very thought of buying ready-made dressings, full of preservatives and other unwanted ingredients, turned of my appetite off. Therefore, was not eating salads regularly. I was searching for a healthier alternative, to help my body stay in balance. Of course, the alternative must be tasty, not only to be healthy, and easy to make.
Everybody knows that simply using just Olive oil, or Avocado oil, or Grape seed Oil alone, will be the easiest to do. How about if you have a taste for different flavors? How about a sweet salad dressing, and still in the wellness category?
Fortunately, I have a lot of natural products at home! Simply good, organic vegetable oil and Gary's True Grit ™ Ningxia Berry Syrup comes to the rescue!
3-5 tablespoons of organic oil (I used olive oil cold pressed)

Taste it! Add more or less of the Syrup depending on your individual taste and liking. Is your dressing too sweet? No problem, add more oil! That simple!

Ingredients of the Gary's True Grit ™ Ningxia Berry Syrup: Organic evaporated cane juice, Water, Berry juice concentrate (Blueberry, Pomegranate, Apricot, Raspberry), Pure vanilla extract, Xanthan gum, Grape pomace extract, Lemon (Citrus Limon) peel oil, Orange (Citrus sinensis) peel extract, Wolfberry Seed oil.
Sometimes I add 1-3 drops of essential oils: lemon, orange, lime or all three (where to buy)
1. In a glass bowl place washed lettuce leaves.
2. Depending on your preference, you may add:
· Chopped onion or chives
· Diced or sliced tomatoes
· Chopped Mozzarella about 100 g
· Sprinkle sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds
· Add fruits such as raspberries, blueberries and/or Dry NingXia Wolberry
3. In a glass container or a cup, pour organic vegetable oil, add Gary's True Grit ™ Ningxia Berry Syrup, mix with a fork or a whisk.
4. Pour the sauce on the prepared salad.
5. Mix the salad and serve.

P.S. The quoted amounts are intended for one use. You made too much of the dressing? No problem! The unused portion may be poured into a glass bottle and refrigerated. I avoid plastic bottles. You may re-use glass bottles. (where to buy bottles)
When refrigerated, the oil might harden, so simply get it out and let it sit in the room temperature before using. Shake well before use.
P.P.S. You don't like sweet dressings? No prob! Instead of the Gary's True Grit ™ Ningxia Berry Syrup simply add a few drops of essential oils such as basil, or oregano, or Thyme or Rosemary, or Dill, or all of them or some of them. I like to experiment, so I mix some essential oils together, and have a tasting party for my taste-buds.
What I love about Young Living essential oils is that they are very concentrated, and sometimes only a drop or 2 is enough. Sometimes the fewer drops I use, the better is the taste!
Sometimes dipping a plain wooden (not colored) toothpick in the essential oil and stirring the vegetable oil is enough.
